How to connect your Libre with Hedia

Step 1 - Create new LibreLinkUp Account

  1. Download the LibreLinkUp app.
  2. In the LibreLinkUp app, create a LibreLinkUp account. You need to use a different email than then one you use for your regular Libre app.
  3. Remember the email and password you use to create the account. You will need it when connecting with Hedia.
  4. Check the inbox of the email account you used to make the LibreLinkUp account. A mail from LibreLinkUp should arrive. Open it and click the link inside the email to verify your new LibreLinkUp account.

Step 2 - Invite LibreLinkUp account

  1. Open your Libre app.
  2. In app’s menu, go to “Connected apps” > “LibreLinkUp”
  3. Invite the LibreLinkUp account you just created, to follow you.
  4. Go to the LibreLinkUp app and accept the invitation. After a few moments, it should start receiving your glucose data.

Step 3 - Connect your LibreLinkUp to Hedia

  1. Open Hedia Diabetes Assistant.
  2. Go to Settings > CGM > Libre
  3. When asked for email and password, enter the email and password you used when creating the new LibreLinkUp account.
  4. After completing the connection flow, you should start seeing your Libre data in Hedia Diabetes Assistant.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can i use my existing LibreLinkUp account?

We advise you to create a LibreLinkUp account with another email than the one you use for your main Libre account.

That way, you avoid giving Hedia the account details of your personal main Libre account. This gives you the best control of your personal data.

What if I only have one email account?

If you only own one email address, you can get a free temporary email that you only need for the setup of your LibreLinkUp account.

  1. Go to 10minutemails.com
  2. Copy the temporary free email shown. You will need this to create your LinkUp profile and to connect to Hedia.
  3. Leave the 10minutemails.com page open.
  4. Use the temporary email to create your LibreLinkUp account. Be sure to note down the password and temporary email used.
  5. Go back to the 10minutemails.com page. A mail from LibreLinkUp should arrive. Open it and click the link inside the email to verify your account.

Can I use Libre reader with Hedia?

The Libre app is required for the integration to work, as Hedia pulls live data directly into the insulin calculator. And for this to work, the Libre app must be able to send data live from the phone to Hedia.

Libre does not allow you to use the reader and the app at the same time.

You can switch to using the Libre app the next time you insert a new sensor, and then connect to Hedia.
