Transfer your blood glucose measurements

You can transfer your blood glucose measurements wirelessly to Hedia Diabetes Assistant (HDA) from your blood glucose meter via NFC or Bluetooth.

We know that physical activity affects your blood glucose. That’s why HDA makes it possible to track your physical activity and take it into account in your calculation.

Get an insulin dosage recommendation

With HDA, it’s quick and easy to enter your data and get a suggested insulin dosage. The app uses your insulin-to-carbohydrate ratio and insulin sensitivity. It also remembers previous dosages and tracks active insulin levels.

How to

get started

Step 1: Download the App

Go to App Store or Google Play and download the app.

Step 2: Create your account

Once downloaded, click the "join now" button. You will then be asked to enter your information and, if you live in the UK or Germany, you must insert the access code you received from your healthcare provider or insurance company. Watch the short guide on how to use the app or click past it to finish your signup. Learn more about getting access here.

Step 3: Set up your insulin calculator

Click on the "+", choose whether you're using a pen or a pump, which unit you use to measure your blood glucose, your total daily dosage of insulin or your insulin sensitivity, and your insulin-to-carbohydrate ratio.

Step 4: Get your first insulin dosage recommendation

Measure your blood glucose, enter it manually or send it wirelessly through NFC, press the "calculate insulin" button, and tell the app if you've taken insulin within the last 4 hours.

Step 5: Use the food database to calculate your carbs

Press the food icon, add your meal from the food database or enter the carbs manually, type in the amount, and click the "calculate insulin" button.

Step 6: Take your physical activity into account

Click the activity icon and tell the app if you just worked out or if you're going to work out later and for how long.

Remember to add data to your logbook to keep track of your progress and show your numbers to your healthcare professional. If you ever have a question or doubt, you can reach the support team at support@hedia.com
