Copenhagen, Denmark – Hedia has appointed Rasmus Kofoed as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective today. He succeeds Lars Christian Lund, who has stepped down after nearly two years to take on a Group CEO role at another international company.
Rasmus brings extensive leadership experience from the Life Science and MedTech sectors, including senior roles at Novo Nordisk, Abbott, Roche, and Medtronic, as well as serving as CEO of ChemoMetec. Throughout his career, he has led large teams, overseen business transformations, and helped scale innovative solutions across multiple international markets.
“This is an exciting moment for Hedia,” says Rasmus Kofoed. “The company combines clinical insight with technology in a way that creates real value for people with diabetes. I look forward to working with the team to extend our reach, strengthen our partnerships, and continue building Hedia as a leading player in digital diabetes care.”
Hedia develops digital solutions that help people with insulin-dependent diabetes manage their condition through data-driven insights, artificial intelligence, and user-friendly app technology. The company is actively expanding the availability of its connected diabetes solutions to new countries and strengthening partnerships worldwide. Its ongoing collaboration with Glooko, together with the recent Dexcom integration, enhances Hedia’s connected ecosystem, making it easier for patients and healthcare providers to access critical data. Looking ahead, Hedia plans to launch the Hedia Diabetes Assistant 3.5, which will offer enhanced features, personalized support, and smarter, simpler ways for people to manage their diabetes.
The Board and team at Hedia also extend their sincere thanks to Lars Christian Lund for his leadership over the past two years. Under his guidance, Hedia transformed from a start-up into a professional scale-up with a solid regulatory and commercial foundation. His work strengthened the company’s market position and expanded the collaborative foundations on which Hedia continues to build. Lars will remain involved during the transition.
“Under Lars’s leadership, Hedia achieved significant milestones, including MDR approval and a foundation for global growth,” says Carl Bilbo, Chairman of the Board. “We are equally pleased to welcome Rasmus, whose strategic and commercial expertise will guide the company into its next phase of growth.”
