Copenhagen, Denmark – April 25, 2025 – Hedia is proud to have participated in the historic Danish Royal State Visit to France as part of the official business delegation accompanying Their Majesties King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark. The visit, which took place from March 31st to April 2nd, was thoughtfully themed “France – Denmark: A European Partnership for a Resilient Future,” serving as a powerful platform to deepen the existing strong ties between the two nations.
The visit’s theme highlighted a shared commitment to addressing Europe’s future challenges through innovation and collaboration. For Hedia, a company dedicated to empowering individuals with diabetes through innovative digital solutions, the focus on building resilient health systems was particularly resonant. The company’s primary objectives for the visit were to showcase its advancements, explore synergies with the dynamic French healthcare market, and contribute to a meaningful dialogue on the future of patient-centric care.
Throughout the visit, Hedia engaged in a series of high-impact events designed to foster collaboration. The delegation participated in the Economic Forum at the Palais Brongniart, focusing on “Creating Resilience via Partnerships,” and joined fellow delegates and senior officials at the prestigious State Banquet at the Palais de l’Élysées. The presence of President Macron at the event underscored the significance of the Franco-Danish partnership.
For Hedia, a defining moment was the “Partnership Event HEALTH,” where the team had the distinct honor of presenting its innovative diabetes management solutions directly to Her Majesty Queen Mary. This presentation was a valuable opportunity to highlight the potential of Danish health tech and sparked energetic discussions with French industry leaders.
Furthering the strategic goals of the visit, the delegation also participated in an insightful site visit to the renowned Hospital Foch. The presentations by Sophie Lode and Yannick Neuder on the hospital’s innovative approaches to patient care and technological integration were particularly inspiring and opened important discussions about potential knowledge exchange and collaborative projects.
Reflecting on the experience, Lars Christian Lund, CEO of Hedia, stated: “It was a great honor representing Hedia and the Danish Health Tech Sector alongside Their Majesties. Denmark can seek inspiration from France’s PECAN program for digital health reimbursement. At Hedia, our focus remains on simplifying life for people with diabetes, reducing costs, and saving time for healthcare providers.”
Julia Abrams, CCO of Hedia, added: “The feeling of identifying as a European citizen was never stronger for me than while being part of this very important Danish State Visit to France. President Macron’s call to action for a stronger, unified European market with increased investment in health tech resonated deeply, reinforcing the importance of cross-border partnerships to build resilient health systems. I’m proud Hedia is part of this commitment.”
Hedia looked back on the State Visit with immense pride and gratitude. The experience had opened new dialogues and solidified the company’s strategy for European expansion. The team was energized by the potential for concrete collaborations, from joint research initiatives to technology integration projects with French partners, believing that by working together, the pace of innovation can accelerate to deliver better outcomes for people living with diabetes across Europe.
Hedia extended its sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, the Danish Embassy in France, Dansk Erhverv, and Healthcare Denmark for facilitating the invaluable opportunity. Deep appreciation was also expressed to Their Majesties King Frederik X and Queen Mary for their leadership and for championing Danish innovation on the world stage.
